The Abbe number is a dimensionless number that corresponds to the relation between the optical refraction capacity and the chromatic dispersion of a transparent material at the wavelengths of the visible. Abbe numbers are used to classify transparent materials: the higher the Abbe number, the better the quality of the lens, then, low dispersion will have a large Abbe number. | |
