Density is an intensive property that univocally identifies a given material, and relates the mass to the volume of it. The density is the mass (m) per unit volume (V). The SI unit for density is grams per cubic centimeter. Weight in air Density = --------------------------------------------------- (Weight in air - Weight in water) The relative density of the substance, as the result of the quotient between the value of its density and the density of the reference substance or standard (water density = 1 gr / cm3) Bulk density is the quotient between the mass of a given solid material (whether granulated, powdered, foamed) per unit volume. | |
