Polyamides - PA6.3T Clear trimethyl hexamethylene diamine terephthalate (TMDT)
PA6.3T is transparent with excellent physical-mechanical properties. The amorphous structure also reduces shrinkage and consequently, deformation or warping. In addition to the basic products, there is a range of products with different yields. High hardness and tenacity not very sensitive to scratches and abrasions, good mechanical and electrical resistance, physiologically approved.

Properties PA 6.3T | ||||||||
| ||||||||
Physica and mechanical properties PA 6.3T
It has a high degree of hardness and hardness, which makes it very resistant to scratches and abrasions. Very good impact resistance. The good mechanical and electrical resistance makes it suitable for electrical applications such as insulation, even in the presence of solvents thanks to the excellent chemical resistance. Suitable for contact with food, and physiologically safe. The mechanical and electrical properties vary according to the temperature of use. The use of T-PA6-3 in hot water above 60 ° C is not recommended.
Thermal properties PA 6.3T
Thanks to a high melting point of 250 ° C, the temperature of use varies, depending on the type, from 90 to 200 ° C (for a short time even from 130 to 180 ° C). It burns with a bluish flame that drips. V2 self-extinguishing by nature can be improved with the addition of flame retardant additives. The glass transition temperature is 140 ° C.
Chemical properties PA 6/3
They resist to weak alkalis, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, ethers and esters, trichlorethylene, carbon tetrachloride, toluene, benzene, oils and fats, resistant to low concentrations of nitric acid, hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid. Resists well to cold water (20 ° C). PA6-3-T well resists plasticizers such as DOP, DIOP and DINP, while not resistant to strong acids. In hot water above 60 ° C, it changes its mechanical properties and makes it lose its transparency.
Electrical Properties PA6.3T
The amorphous polyamide has excellent dielectric properties that are independent of the water content, have high tracking strength, good dielectric strength, good potential as an insulator.
Optical Properties PA6.3T
It has a transparent microcrystalline structure, because its crystals are very small, so it does not disperse visible light, while maintaining a high transmission of light, it is suitable for the production of sunglasses and optical films. Good transparency (refractive index: n20 D = 1.566) from 85% to 90% of the wavelengths of visible light that pass. With specific monomers, the crystallites are so small that they do not disperse visible light, and the material seems transparent to the human eye, a property known as microcrystallinity. The transparent polyamides 6 / 3T have an inherently better resistance to UV rays. Replacing the aromatic components with aliphatic monomers improves the UV stability of transparent polyamides.
Processability PA 6.3T
Polyamides 63T can be easily molded by injection or blow molding, extrusion or using the rotation system.
Polimerization PA6.3T
The monomers of cycloaliphatic diamine and 1,12-dodecanedioic acid result in a transparent and permanently crystallizable polyamide, which is distinguished as crystalline with the name of PA6 / 3 T. In practice, the PA 6.3T consists of 50 mol% of terephthalic acid and dimethyl ester and 50 mol% of an equimolar mixture of 2,2,4-trimethylmethylenediamine and 2,4,4-trimethylmethylenediamine, which due to its chemical nature is responsible for the amorphous structure of PA6.3T. Terephthalic acid is a benzenedicarboxylic acid that carries carboxy groups at positions 1 and 4.
Products range PA 6.3T | ||||||||
PA 6.3T is offered in a wide variety of grade including no filler / no reinforcement, as well as grade that contains fiberglass, mineral filler, hybrid 2 or more full, with special additives and special lubricant, modified impact and flame retardant. The compounds can be in contact with drinking water and food, so they are toxicologically safe.
