What is a Creep Test? | |
The fluence test must be done with a material tester, since the speed is critical to measure the deformation over time. This test method is used to determine a sample of creep properties when subjected to a prolonged tensile or compressive load at a constant temperature. The rate of deformation of a sample material at a constant temperature is known as the yield velocity (arrow). It is the slope created by the creep vs. weather. Sliding generally occurs at elevated temperatures, which is why it is common for this type of heating / cooling control. Temperature control is critical for the effects of thermal expansion on the sample. | |
