Incandescent wire tests
With the semiautomatic test system tests are carried out with incandescent wire in plastics, according to IEC / DIN EN 60695-2-12 GWFI or IEC / DIN EN 60695-2-13 GWIT standards. In these tests, the flammability of synthetic materials is determined by squeezing an incandescent wire on a circular plastic plate. The result becomes a characteristic value of the properties of the plastic. Normally the test piece is a circular plastic plate of 85 mm in diameter and a thickness of 0.75 mm, 1.5 mm or 3 mm.
Burning capacity UL-94
During the tests in accordance with IEC / DIN EN 60695-2-13 the flammability value with incandescent wire (GWFI) is determined. The ignition temperature of the incandescent wire is 25 K higher than the test temperature, which in three consecutive test pieces produces an ignition time of <5 seconds. The test system has a motorized skate through which the specimen moves towards the incandescent wire. Once the previously defined time has elapsed, the specimen will automatically move away. |
