Soles in SBS (TR) foamed
The foaming agents used in the production of cellular plastics are divided into physical and chemical, according to whether the gas is generated by a physical process (evaporation, sublimation) or by a chemical (breakage of the chemical structure or by other chemical reactions ). Chemical foaming agents are chemical substances, compatible or finely dispersed in the polymer, which decompose at the required speed in a narrow temperature range. In recent years, Mexpolimeros has developed a new formulation and process conditions, which allows foaming of SBS (TR) soles achieving very good properties:
In Mexpolimero we have the "Know How" to support the customer in the development of foamed soles.
Cell structure | ||||||||
They are TR thermoplastic materials with a cellular structure, which contain large proportions of thin cells filled with gas. Cells can be closed or open. The physical properties of the resulting materials will be intermediate between those of the solid and those of the gas. In foamed plastics, significant reductions in density, thermal conductivity, dielectric properties and dissipation of acoustic and mechanical energy are achieved. The density of the cellular material decreases proportionally to the volumetric fraction of the gas phase.
