Products range XPRENE HT
At Mexpolimeros we offer a wide range of SEBS high elastomer thermo and its compounds developed according to your needs, guaranteeing quality in products and service. We commercialize a new polymer SEBS HT, the generation of new opportunities for the compounds TPE-S (thermoplastic elastomer of styrene) in applications that suppose high temperatures and a high level of performance. Our product range includes composite grades of block copolymers SEBS and SEPS are available from 3 ÷ 70 Shore A up to 70 Shore D. SEBS elastomer has been specifically formulated for applications where the mechanical and thermo-oxidative degradation of the polymer can prevent its use in Aggressive manufacturing conditions.
SEBS vs TPV | ||||||||
The investigations of Mexpolimeros have allowed us to design a new solution that allows customers to match or exceed the performance of the TPV (vulcanized thermoplastic), if our compound SEBS XPRENE HT is used. SEBS HT (XPRENE HT) improves compression hardening and tempering of TPE-S compounds at temperatures above 70 ° C. Our SEBS HT compounds have matched the elastic recovery at 70 ° C temperature of TPV (vulcanized PP / EPDM). We handle TPE-S compounds with a wide range of hardness, great extensibility with oil, very good processing capacities in both extruded and injection molded applications, recycling possibilities and ample joining possibilities, in comparison with other materials. Its exceptional combination of physical properties, hardness and processing makes it the ideal solution to maximize the performance of TPE-S compounds in high temperature conditions. The good results obtained with the TPE-S as a climate seal in the automotive sector for the global industry. It can pass the European regulations and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in applications that have direct contact with food. The product also meets the requirements of Class VI Biological reactivity tests of the American Pharmacopoeia (USP).

SEBS high thermal Physica and mechanical properties
SEBS styrenic block copolymer elastomers are some of the most versatile and easy to process materials in the plastics industry. The thermoplastic SEBS offers an excellent coefficient of surface friction, little permanent deformation, high tensile strength. Normally they do not require drying, they have wide processing latitudes and they have good to excellent thermal stability. Special qualities with specific acoustic properties, modified adhesion, higher thermal resistance and flame retardancy complete the current range of products.
SEBS high thermal Propiedades Termicas
The glass transition temperature (Tg) of the polybutadiene blocks is typically -90 ° C, while the Tg of the polystyrene blocks is + 100 ° C. Therefore, at any temperature between -90 ° C and + 100 ° C, SEBS will act as a physically cross-linked elastomer. The operating temperature is guaranteed from -40 ° C to + 100 ° C.
SEBS alto termo Electrical Properties
SEBS thermoplastic are usually good insulators with a relatively high electrical resistivity, being the non-polar better than the polar ones. However, the electrical properties of SEBS polymer compounds are more dependent on the ingredients used in the formulation than on the base elastomer. We make ESBS polymer antistatic and even conductive by incorporating sufficient amounts of graphite, special types of carbon black, certain metallic powders or polar products into the rubber mixture. However, the conductivity obtained by these means does not resemble that of metals.
SEBS high thermal Propiedades Òpticas
One of the characteristics of a two-phase system is that the light disperses when passing from one phase to another, resulting in different levels of light transmission, in the case of the SEBS pellets we also have transparent grades.
SEBS high thermal Chemical properties
Unlike SBS, SEBS does not contain double bonds (which by their nature are sensitive to oxidation), which makes it particularly resistant to wear. Therefore, it is ideal for extreme conditions that have to do with heat, ultraviolet radiation, ozone or oxidizing agents. The SEBS resist well stress cracking to acids, hydroxides, methanol and ethanol, absorb oil, fats, aliphatic hydrocarbons. On the other hand, they do not avoid polar hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons, carboxylic acid, gasoline, ASTM oil No. 1 Paraffiic, ASTM Aromatic No. 3 oil, toluene and benzene.
SEBS high thermal Processability
SEBS belong to the class of thermoplastic elastomers that possess the mechanical properties of rubber at room temperature and the processing capabilities of thermoplastics. The SEBS are similar to rubber without being cross-linked, so it is easy to process them to achieve useful shapes, usually it is processed more or less at 150-230 ° C. The SEBSs can present different characteristics, highlighting mainly its great versatility for bi-injection or overmolding with plastic materials. They can be processed with several methods, such as injection, extrusion or blowing. In addition, XPRENE HT has been created especially for marketing demands and meet customer requirements.
SEBS high thermal Adhesion al sustrato
Adhesion to a wide range of polar and non-polar substrates such as PP, PA, ABS, PC, PS, SAN, ASA, PBT, PET, ABS / PC etc.
SEBS high thermal Compound
Products of the XPRENE HT class are formulated from SEBS granules, oil, polypropylene, additives, and some grades have reinforcements of a continuous phase morphology. The inclusion of a charge to a polymeric matrix can describe a compatibilization effect between immiscible or immiscible mixtures and thus also exhibit excellent electrical conductivity, hardness, rigidity, mechanical and thermal resistance, and even to provide bactericidal properties to the new material. Polymers has been the fast track for the design of new resins that seek to combine the properties of resin SEBS and PP, to reach the superiority of certain characteristics due to the synergy that may present. Unlike SBS, SEBS does not contain double bonds (which by their nature are sensitive to oxidation), which makes it particularly resistant to wear.
